Free Yourself from Repetitive Thinking

We can practise Mindfulness to free us from the repetitive thinking that no longer serves us.

When we operate on ‘automatic’; while brushing our teeth, bathing, getting dressed and eating – for instance, we leave ourselves ‘open’ for repetitive thoughts often concerned with our past and future; both places that fail to exist in THIS moment.

To relieve anxiety and depression, to leave behind negative and stress providing thoughts, bring yourself in any given and chosen moment, back to THIS moment – the Here and Now. To help with this, practise using all your senses to ground yourself in the ‘now’. Without any judgement, simply ask yourself the following:

  1. What can I hear?
  2. What can I taste?
  3. What can I feel?
  4. What can I see?
  5. What can I smell?

Then notice, you are truly in THIS moment, paying attention to the only place that really matters – this moment!
